Urdu Translation
رمضان کا مہینہ وہ ہے جس میں قرآن نازل کیا گیا، جو لوگوں کے لیے ہدایت ہے اور ہدایت کی کھلی نشانیاں رکھتا ہے اور حق و باطل میں فرق کرنے والا ہے۔ پس تم میں سے جو کوئی اس مہینے کو پائے وہ اس کے روزے رکھے، اور جو بیمار ہو یا سفر پر ہو تو دوسرے دنوں سے گنتی پوری کرے۔ اللہ تمہارے لیے آسانی چاہتا ہے اور تمہارے لیے سختی نہیں چاہتا، اور تاکہ تم گنتی پوری کرو اور اللہ کی بڑائی بیان کرو اس پر کہ اس نے تمہیں ہدایت دی، اور تاکہ تم شکر ادا کرو۔
English Translation
The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship, and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you, and perhaps you will be grateful.
